Mangoes
Tommy
These mangoes typically weigh 500-550 grams. It is valued for having a very long shelf life and exhibiting little or no bruising or degradation during handling and transportation. This makes it exceptionally prized for export to areas mangoes do not grow.
Kent
Kent mangoes are exceptionally large, typically weighing 570–740 grams. It is oval in shape, and has a rich, sweet flavor. It turns a greenish-yellow color with some red blush as it matures. Kent mangoes are ideal for snacking, juicing and drying.
Apple
Apple mangoes are round, weigh approximately 400g and have a smooth, orange-yellow skin that turns red when ripe, and that peels off easily. They have a rich, sweet, thread-free flesh. They are largely grown by smallholders in Kenya as they are relatively easy to pant and manage.
Ngowe
This is a large oblong mango, with a beak-like curve at the end. It averages 520g in weight. When ripe, it is deep yellow with orange/red tones in color. The flesh is deep yellow with a very low fiber content. It is exceptionally sweet, and ships well.
